I was actually compelled to stay up and finish this book last night. About Madeleine Wickham Sophie Kinsella is an international bestselling writer and former financial journalist. The Chambers’ family is comprised of Liz, Jonathan, and their teenage daughter Alice. Here they were, stuck with two mortgages, mounting debts and a miserable adolescent daughter who hadn’t wanted to move anyway.

While that treachery is widkham, Liz finds herself in a precarious situation, too. There is even a foreword from the author issuing a slightly veiled warning that books written under the name Madeleine Wickham are not in the same style as books written under the fesidence Sophie Kinsella.

This book was a huge disappointment for me. Throughout the entire series, her obsession with shopping and the complications that imparts on her life are central themes. All is well, I thought. Trashy book, so disappointing since she also wrote the most hilarious book I’ve ever read, and one of my favorites, “Can you Keep a Secret.
