While I was not blown away by any of the material that was presented, I can see the utility of it. The authors give us some pretty inspirational foundational aspects of gamestorming and its importance in the “age of discovery”.

What if there are a range of possibilities? This book is made for visual thinkers and design facilitators.

Some of the games are more analytical. The answer may surprise you: Chapter 7 Games for Closing. I am giving this book a tentative rating. In fact it’s probably a good idea if you never refer to these techniques as games or gamestorming. Keep that in mind while you read this book otherwise you’ll go through it thinking “I can’t play this game with my co-workers, they’ll laugh at me!

While the compilation of techniques is great, the biggest gamestomring away for me on a second reading is the framework and pattern-library-ish approach to that compilation. If you gamestormiing interested in going deeper, I recommend these books.

The main approach of Gamestorming is framing the meetings and exercises as games, with the rules spelled out, for example the number of players, objective of the game, and gamwstorming the game is played. Some fantastic ideas and concepts in here that will surely help you harness the full creative power of even the most withdrawn and quiet team Really awkward to read as an e-book on my phone, but my paper copy is a great reference to take to meetings.

Even if you don’t do these kinds o This is a terrific book for ideas and gamestormimg for running innovation sessions.
