It seems as if the plot moves along without them: The ending was also all over the place and quite unsatisfactory. Return to Book Page. This book still had its share of great moments, particularly the events of Stygga castle, which had me tearing through the pages to see how it would turn out.

La dama del lago 1 : Andrzej Sapkowski :

It skips back and forth in time in ways that are both intriguing and playful, and there are framing stories within framing stories that end up contributing to the main story themselves. Some would think that this is simply a spoiler, but no! Heavy spoilers for the series to follow, especially towards the end. There is some great mirroring and thematic similarities in Geralt and Oa stories here and seeing them wrap up and converge builds great anticipation for a pay-off that has been teased for hundreds of pages.

The ending almost made this slog of a read worth it, some of which is written through viewpoints of characters about whom the reader simply doesn’t care. Without wanting to give too much away, let’s just say that the title’s Arthurian allusion isn’t entirely poetic license.

So many boring chapters.

I only recommend this to those that have read all the previous books in the series; this is most certainly a conclusion, as weak as it was, dwma than dxma stand-alone novel.

It’s a fantasy series that deals with subjects others don’t, or in ways they don’t the usual fantasy racism here is more than just a quip here and there, for instance.

For such a long and epic tome I found the wrap up to be wholly unsatisfying. I can’t believe I finished this book the night before I finished playing the game. There are tons of unnecessary point of views of irrelevant characters and confusing flashbacks and windows of the future.

I tried to read plot summaries of the other books to refresh my memory, but this lack of continuity may have contributed to my low ranking of this book. But, since this is the final volume, stakes will be raised even higher, there will be reunions, both desired and undesired, and things will reach what I found to be a satisfactory conclusion, albeit one in a bit of a minor key.

layo The first collection of short stories, ‘The Last Wish’, was the best creation in the entire franchise. Ciri made them cross to the other side, the symbolism about the lake, the river and the rowboat is pretty clear.

Se devono morire, che sia una morte degna – o, quantomeno, scritta bene. The ending was also exceeding disappointing and quite frankly pointless. Return to Book Page. The timeline jumps all over the place in this one, leaving you damw always sure where you are.

Or a pitchfork in the present? It seems the author is just trying all the types of writing known to man They had to have the ears of the whole world too.

Seeing the end of this book with a line about another book was disheartening to me. Instead of focusing on the characters like Geralt, Yennefer and Tris who were shamefully neglected in the previous books, Sapkowski introduces new characters who hold no significance to the plot and live years AFTER the crucial event.

A incredible series, full of amazing characters. Lists with This Book. The book starts with a lot of dep around to different viewpoints – Ciri and Galahad, two sorceresses in the future looking back on these events in their past, the emperor of Nilfgaard and Ciri’s double, and a quick peek in ,ago Yennefer in captivity.

I did like how the series wrapped up. Other books in the series. Presvedcilo ma to uz v zivote nevziat do ruky knihy o zaklinacovi. There were extra narratives including the Lady of the Lake and her apprentice, Dijkstra, etc that pulled you out of the story as well and this became And so ends the Witcher Saga, which I’ve been steadily reading throughout the last year.

It also has a sturdy sense of itself of being built out of its own necessity, not just to shelter or beguile you.
