Lady of Conquest Teresa Medeiros No preview available – I usually love Medeiros’ books but this one seriously disappointed me with the weak, wishy-washy, and not loyal lead characters. What I didn’t like about this book was that it was so misleading. It was my first and favorite of Teresa Medeiros. I love this epic story! And, as almost 2 yrs went by til the ending so if Gelina when captured was 16 mentioned in the bookshe was somewhere around 18 and for the medieval time frame, she was old enough I think! I also happen to love historical romances where there are strong handsome men–but even stronger women who manage Teresa Medeiros has been a favorite author of mine for many many years.
Personally, I found myself wishing that we could have seen more of Conn’s experiences on the Roman slave ship since that appears to be the betrayal that presumably ruined him for Gelina, and may have made an interesting comparison when he turned around and made her his personal slave.
