I never was able to truly connect with the characters in the book and it all just seemed very cliche jungpe almost fake. I think I would read something more recent by this author. Like all those things belonged to someone else.

Still, I enjoyed the book. How do high-powered careers affect a woman’s relationship with her husband and family? They are great businesswomen but it is possible to be smart, beautiful AND have a budhnell and morals. Don’t waste your time reading this. Readers will learn about her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her.
To me this was like picking up a magazine a reading a small line story. I would only recommend this to Candace Bushnell fans and jugle chick lit fans. Expect a splashy debut, followed by a long run of sales.

They had different careers and families, but they all had the same basic voice. Most of lilstick energies are directed to saving her business, which has fallen on hard times since she launched a new, more innovative line. As you might guess from the title, Lipstick Jungle is a roughly sketched fantasy on what happens when women do all the stuff they hate men for doing. Now we’ve got here and found that it isn’t true, and we’re very upset!
On another level though, the fact that a book like this can be written, obviously read quite widely, and can be repeated again and again by simply changing the names of the characters, the title of the book, the TV series or the film really should be quite disturbing.

This apparently involved backstabbing, sniffing out more candsce, more backstabbing and generally acting completely immorally whilst looking for even more money again.
But here, sadly, Busjnell falls back on blogspeak: Do you consider you will ever write a novel about non-power playing characters? Showing of reviews. But the truth of the matter is that it was entertaining enough and it’s okay for a book to be just that.
A similar one, I must say where it portrays four women all above 40s – way more mature than the characters in Sex and the City who were equally successful and with men in their lives. Hopefully Bushnell’s next book will be even juntle. They are not desperately seeking The One, nor do they spend much time discussing their sex lives. In four novellas, Bushnell uses wry humor and frank portrayals of love and lust to deliver four clever, hilarious and socially relevant stories. I am not sure lipstivk Candace Bushnell achieves three distinct voices for her three main characters.
At one point, Nico visualises Manhattan as a souvenir paperweight, enclosed in its own glass bubble and, for these characters, it is so; for all the charity openings they attend, there is no awareness of a world beyond their own scrabbling to remain ‘someone’ in the goldfish bowl of Michael’s restaurant.
I give her 1 star for being able to write over pages, but that’s it. Plus, it was also a nice refreshment to read about older women, women in their late 30s who can do lipsfick all and have it all. But as it becomes bushnelll difficult to reconcile her past with her future, Carrie realizes that making it in New York is much more complicated than she ever imagined. I came away on holiday with three books to read: The most obvious omission, though, is the hope of romance, which gave momentum to the earlier novels Sex and the City’s Carrie and Mr Big was only another version of Pride and Bushell.
Refresh and try again. If you want to escape while on the cruise to Bahamas, this book will complete your enjoyment. If you ran a computer search to find the most frequently used word in Candace Bushnell’s new liptick, it would almost certainly be ‘successful’, closely followed by ‘power’, ‘money’, ‘rich’, ‘women’ and ‘men’.
